Your student can tutor you on how to navigate from class to class, look at assignments, and check grades. Need access to a computer? Parents are welcome to use our library computers to log on to NEO during library hours (M-F, 8-8:30 AM, 2:30-3:00 PM).
In order for students to type assignments, compose presentations, collaborate and share their work electronically, they will need an active Google Drive Account. This can occur in one of two ways:
1. Students can open a Gmail Account with their parents’ permission. We are recommending that parents keep the password and check in on their student’s online activity frequently.
2. Students can use a Santa Barbara School District Academic Google Drive Account. This account does not have all of the apps included in a public Google Account (for example, there is no Gmail function on this account). In order to have an account created for new students (most seventh graders and any new eighth graders would need a new account), parents need to sign a permission form, allowing for the account to be created.
